Apply OnlineSenior Engineer or engineer (OPTICAL TEST) (2008-2W)

Location: East Granby, CT

Work hours: Full time

Main Responsibilities

·         Liaise with project engineers to establish testing requirements on various products and optical components; set up systems using test and measurement equipment to create test benches.
·         Develop automation test software.
·         Document procedures for testing fiber laser assemblies and systems.
·         Conduct tests, analyze data, and write test reports.
·         Share the responsibility of trouble shooting fiber laser assemblies and systems.
·         Support testing technology transfer to production/manufacturing.

Education

BS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optics, or related discipline, or equivalent experience required.

Experience

·         Hands-on optical testing experience required.
·         Experience with one or more of the following is required: LabView, C#, C/C++, MS Visual Studio.
·         Knowledge of databases required; SQL experience preferred.
·         Experience with fiber lasers or fiber amplifiers preferred.

·         Strong organizational skills with superior attention to detail.
·         Ability to present concepts and ideas in a clear and coherent manner both orally and in writing.
·         Enthusiastic with willingness to learn and share ideas.

Level of Independence

·         Able to be self-motivated and self-directed; able to work with minimal supervision and also be an effective team member.
