MANUFACTURING ENGINEER (2008-7W)

Summary

Identify continuous opportunities to improve product quality and manufacturability at Nufern by utilizing Lean Tools (Kaizen, Kan Ban, 5S, TPM, Pull Systems) and best practices in implementing advances in manufacturing.

Main Responsibilities

· Work with cross-functional teams to provide full manufacturing support to meet 100% customer satisfaction.

· In support of continuous improvement opportunities maintain assembly, maintenance, test procedures and instructions.

· Analyze data to determine failure modes in not meeting customer deliveries, e.g., Pareto charts. (Plan to Actuals).

· Implement improvement opportunities based on the analysis of the data.

· Review manufacturing processes and data to develop strategies to improve product quality and lower cost.

· Develop and maintain equipment maintenance process and control. (Total Production Maintenance)

· Maintain Bills of Materials and Routings.

Education

BSIE, BSEE, BSME, BSMfgE or related engineering degree or equivalent experience.

Experience

· Prior experience in fiber optic assembly and manufacturing preferred.

· Quality and Manufacturing experience which includes ISO and LEAN.

· Experience with ECO and document control.

Knowledge / Skills

· Skilled at multitasking; excellent communication skills; able to learn and take on new responsibilities; able to work cooperatively in a team environment.

Level of Independence

Strong degree of self-motivation and direction required; able to work with minimal supervision, and also be an effective team member.
