Nufern, the largest independent manufacturer of application-specific optical fiber, has added a bend insensitive 1550 nm fiber to its high performance select cut-off product family. This fiber is designed for use in small form factor active and passive components that require tight bend radii. Nufern's 1550B-HP provides 50 to 100 times lower bend loss than SMF28 and is ideal for bend insensitive packaging for compact C and L-band components, low NA planar waveguides, and metro applications. Nufern's 1550B-HP offers tight mechanical and optical tolerances, 200 kpsi proof test, and low splice loss to SMF28 fiber, for high yield component manufacturing.
