Nufern Introduces the Latest in a Series of Polarization Maintaining (PM) Erbium/Ytterbium Double-Clad Fibers

Higher power/energy output for new PM “eyesafe” fiber laser applications.

EAST GRANBY, CONN. - (May 23, 2005) — Nufern, the largest independent manufacturer of fiber laser and amplifier modules and specialty optical fibers, announced today the release of the latest fiber in a series of Panda-style polarization maintaining (PM), Erbium-Ytterbium (Er/Yb) co-doped, double-clad products.

Nufern’s PM-EYDF-7/130 is ideal for high power (energy) fiber laser and optical amplifier applications requiring polarized output at eyesafe wavelength (1550 nm).

Nufern’s proprietary rare earth doping technology is used to deliver Er:Yb co-doped fibers with industry leading power conversion efficiency. The Panda-style PM configuration enables the design of lasers and amplifiers with linearly polarized output.
