BALTIMORE, Maryland - June 3, 2003 - Nufern Tightens Fiber Specs on Select Cut-Off 1060 nm and Planar Waveguide Fibers. Nufern, the largest independent provider of application-specific optical fiber, announces tighter specifications for its planar waveguide and select cut-off single-mode 1060 nm fibers. Designed to improve performance and reduce manufacturing expenses, these extra high-performance (XP) fibers provide improved optical and geometrical tolerances with a clad diameter of ± 0.5 µm, a coating diameter ± 10 µm, and a core-clad concentricity of < 0.3 µm.
