EAST GRANBY, CT –March 24, 2015– Nufern, a leading U.S. manufacturer of specialty optical fibers, fiber lasers and amplifiers and fiber optic gyro coils, announced today it has expanded its family of NuPANDA polarization maintaining fibers. These PM fibers have superior bend loss performance and are ideally suited for telecommunication and datacom applications.
These 4 fibers are PM980B-XP, PM1300B-XP, PM14XXB-XP, and PM1550B-XP, and are offered with either dual acrylate 250-μm or 400-μm diameter coating. As data rates continue to increase and device sizes shrink, the requirement for low bending loss fibers becomes critical. By optimizing their design, these fibers offer superior bend loss performance exceeding the requirements of most telecom applications.
Jeff Wojtkiewicz, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, reports "We continue to work with our customers to enhance the performance of our fibers and expand our product portfolio to meet market needs. This latest generation of PM fibers is targeted at the telecom market and is ideally designed to address smaller device packaging."
Nufern fibers are manufactured to exceptionally tight mechanical and optical tolerances. The resulting uniformity and efficiency helps to ensure high yield when the fiber is used in device manufacturing. All Nufern fibers are produced under an ISO 9001:2008 certified quality management system.
