EAST GRANBY, CT – January 22, 2016– Nufern Tightens Fiber Specs on Select Cutoff Single Mode 980 nm Fibers. Nufern, a leading U.S. manufacturer of specialty optical fibers, fiber lasers and amplifiers, and fiber optic gyro coils, announces tighter specifications for its single mode 980 nm fibers. These extra high-performance (XP) fibers provide improved optical and geometrical tolerances with a clad diameter of ± 0.5 µm, a coating diameter of ± 10 µm, a core-clad concentricity of < 0.3 µm, and a mode field diameter of ± 0.3 µm. These high performance specifications result in superior strength, increased component reliability, improved production yields, and reduced component manufacturer costs.
Jeff Wojtkiewicz, VP of Sales & Marketing, states, “Nufern continues to listen to customers, and the new 980-XP fiber offers the tightest tolerance specifications. Our goal is to develop and produce products that exceed industry standards in reliability, repeatability and performance.”
